Programs of physical therapy

After surgeries on the knee joint

Despite the fact, that nowadays specialists practice surgeries with low percentage of traumatism on the knee joint (arthroscopy), its post-operative period is characterized by prolonged motion disorders. Recovery period lasts from 3 to 6 months. It should be mentioned, that restoration of functionability at satisfactory level (recovery of walking ability, increased range of motion in the joint) may be reached at the end of the first month after the surgery.

Aim of the program: complete restoration of the knee joint, return to daily physical activity.

Indications: after-effects of arthroscopy on the knee joint (cruciate ligament plastry, menisci removal).

Comprehensive treatment: medicational; physical therapy: iatric physical training, massage therapy, post-isometric relaxation, miofascial therapy, joint play, vibrotherapy, suspension therapy UGUL, PNF stretching, cardio training, TRX training, cryotherapy; extracorporeal shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic tools.

Observations and consultations of: orthopedist and traumatologist physical therapist.

After shoulder surgeries

Shoulder joint is the most movable joint in the human body. After surgical treatment, it is very important to restore full range of motions. Restoration lasts from 6 to 9 months. It is worth noting, that in 2 months period after the surgery, hand functions are at a sufficient level for everyday life activities.

Aim of the program: complete restoration of the shoulder joint, return to daily physical loads.

Indications: after-effects of surgical intervention on shoulder joint (plastry of joint lip, restoration of tendon, fixation of humerus fractions ).

Comprehensive treatment: medicational; physical therapy: iatric physical training, massage therapy, post-isometric relaxation, miofascial therapy, joint play, vibrotherapy, suspension therapy UGUL, PNF stretching, cardio training, TRX training, cryotherapy; extracorporeal shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic tools.

Observations and consultations of: orthopedist and traumatologist, physical therapist.

During the instability of shoulder joint (after-effects of dislocations)

After dislocation, mechanics of the joint breaks and mobility increases. Chances of re-dislocations together with necessity in surgical treatment rise as well. For 2 months, we strengthen the joint and reduce the chances of re-dislocations.

Aim of the program: to strengthen joint by increasing of muscle firmness, to restore functions and stereotyped movement.

Indications: slips (dislocations) of shoulder.

Comprehensive treatment: physical therapy; iatric physical training, massage therapy, post-isometric relaxation, miofascial therapy, joint play, vibrotherapy, suspension therapy UGUL, PNF stretching, cardio training, TRX training, cryotherapy; extracorporeal shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic tools.

Observations and consultations of: orthopedist and traumatologist, physical therapist.

After endoprosthesis (replacement) of a hip

Long-lasting jointal destruction causes functional disturbance of entire limb and forms a habit of irregular gait.
After replacement of joint, we get a chance to move freely and with no pain. And this may happen under condition of elimination of post-surgical after-effects and destruction of the previous movemental disorders. Compete physical recovery is possible after 3-6 months. In one month period after the surgery, we may achieve free walk already.

Aim of the program: to sustain the joint by increasing muscle strength, to restore the correct walk.

Indications: endoprothesis (replacement) of a hip.

Comprehensive treatment: medicational; physical therapy; iatric physical training, massage therapy, post-isometric relaxation, miofascial therapy, joint play, vibrotherapy, suspension therapy UGUL, PNF stretching, cardio training, TRX training, cryotherapy; extracorporeal shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic tools.

Observations and consultations of: orthopedist and traumatologist, physical therapist.

In case of limb injuries

In order to create optimal conditions for healing of injured bones or soft tissue fixation is used. Limb immobilization in a cast, orthosis or somehow surgically, by constructions of external or internal fixation can be applied as well. Prolonged immobilization has a therapeutic effect, but also harms muscles, ligaments and joints that do not move. Therefore, rehabilitation should begin as soon as it is possible. The recovery should become progressively intensive just as first movements are optainable. The recovery time depends on the peculiarities of trauma and previous treatment, average time needed – 1 to 8 months. We gradually restore range of motions, strengthen muscles and return patient to normal life.

Aim of the program: to restore injured limb.

Indications: fracture of bones, soft tissue injuries.

Comprehensive treatment: medicational; physical therapy: iatric physical training, massage therapy, post-isometric relaxation, miofascial therapy, joint play, vibrotherapy, suspension therapy UGUL, PNF stretching, cardio training, TRX training, cryotherapy; extracorporeal shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic tools.

After sports injuries

The risk of injury is unavoidable, when you are involved in all kinds of active sport. Functional restoration of damaged body parts is impossible without rehabilitation. Recovery allows you to start up quickly with professional sports and reduces chances of re-injury.

Aim of the program: to stimulate proper healing and strengthen injured segment, restore sport-specific functions.

Indications: after-effects of sport injury.

Comprehensive treatment: medicational; physical therapy: iatric physical training, massage therapy, post-isometric relaxation, miofascial therapy, joint play, vibrotherapy, suspension therapy UGUL, PNF stretching, cardio training, TRX training, cryotherapy; extracorporeal shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic tools.

After diseases of the central nervous system

After suffering a cerebral stroke, injuries or damages of the brain, it is crucial to start physical therapy as soon as possible. In the same time as the patient is treated at hospital, a physical therapist starts working with him. Depending on the type and localization of the disorder, a rehabilitation tactics is formed. After discharge from hospital, rehabilitation comes first for recovery of the person. Thanks to physical therapy, recovery or compensation for lost functions is achieved.

Aim of the program: to regenerate or to compensate for lost functions.

Indications: hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, head injury, underwent brain surgeries.

Comprehensive treatment: physical therapy: therapeutic exercise, therapeutic massage, postisometric relaxation, myofascial treatment, articular games, seismotherapy, UGUL suspension therapy, PNF gymnastics, cardiovascular exercise, TRX exercise, cryotherapy, SAEBO therapy, ADELI loading suit; shockwave therapy; kinesiological taping; orthopedic equipment.

Observations and consultations of: orthopedist and traumatologist, physical therapist.
